John Midas loves chocolate. He loves it so much that he'll eat it any hour of any day. He doesn't care if he ruins his appetite. He thinks chocolate is better than any other food! Task 4 - Then and Now
The Chocolate Touch was written in 1952, which is 60 years ago! What similarities and differences did you notice while reading? For instance, in Chapter 7, John drank milk from a small milk bottle. Today, children drink milk from a carton. Create a Then and Now Chart, comparing and contrasting changes in time. You may ask your parents or grandparents for some “thens” if you would like to add to your chart. At the party, I will show you some toys that were played with in the 1950's! Times have sure changed, but I know I appreciate learning about the past.
